Plans
This page covers every field on the plan editor screen — Pro Memberships → Plans → Add New Plan (or Edit Plan, for an existing one). If you haven’t built a plan before, the User Guide walks through creating one in order, with a worked example; this page is the field-by-field reference to come back to afterwards. Each plan has five sections.
Qualifying Products
Purchasing any of these grants this plan. Use a dedicated product to sell the plan on its own, or an existing product to bundle it with another purchase — the mechanism is the same either way.
- Linked products: specific products that grant this plan.
- Or any product in these categories: grants the plan for a purchase of any product in the selected categories.
- Or any product with these tags: same idea, based on product tags.
Access Length
How long a member’s access lasts before it needs renewing.
- Lifetime: access never expires.
- Fixed term: a number of days from the date access was granted.
- Until date: a fixed calendar date, the same for every member on the plan.
Selling this plan through a recurring WooCommerce Subscription? Select Lifetime. Access is then determined by the status of the subscription itself — active, on hold, cancelled — not by this setting. Fixed term and Until date are only re-checked when the subscription’s status changes, so a subscription that just keeps renewing would eventually be expired by this setting anyway, even though it’s still being paid for.

Paywall Content
Plan holders see the full content; everyone else sees a teaser, configured below.

- Pages / posts / other content: specific pages or posts to restrict — and not just those. Any public content type on your site is searchable and selectable here, including a bbPress forum topic or reply if you have bbPress installed. Restricting a topic or reply works exactly like restricting a post: non-members see the usual teaser in place of its content, members see it in full. (This doesn’t hide a restricted topic from its forum’s topic list, or a restricted forum from the forum index — only the content itself.)
- Post categories / Post tags: restrict every post in the selected categories or tags.
- Products: specific products to restrict.
- Product categories / Product tags: restrict every product in the selected categories or tags.
- Restricted post/page teaser: choose Simple message only (the restricted content message, set in general settings — see Admin Reference), or Show the first N paragraph(s), fading out into that same message. The excerpt is cut at the end of a paragraph, heading or other block, never mid-sentence, and includes a “Become a Member” link to the plan’s qualifying product when it has one.
- Restricted products: choose Visible to everyone, but only members can buy (the product page stays browsable; only “Add to cart” is disabled), or Hidden from non-members entirely — the product disappears from the shop, category and tag pages, and a direct visit redirects to the shop.
- Drip content: release restricted content every N day(s)/week(s)/month(s), instead of all at once. Leave at 0 to disable — this is the default, and everything restricted is available as soon as membership starts. When enabled, each item unlocks according to its own Drip sequence number (set on the item’s own edit screen, in a small “Membership Drip” box — not in the plan editor) multiplied by this interval, counted from when the member joined. Sequence 0, or left unset, always means available immediately; give two items the same sequence number to release them together.

Administrators, editors, and a restricted item’s own author always see the full content and any hidden products, regardless of membership — they need to be able to review and manage what they’ve restricted. This doesn’t extend to buying a restricted product; that still requires the plan, and drip content doesn’t apply to restricted products at all — only the content types above.
Member Discount
- Discount type: No discount, Percentage off, or Fixed amount off.
- Value: the discount amount. Percentage values are capped at 100.
- Scope: All products, Specific products (select below), or Specific categories (select below). The Discount products / Discount categories fields only appear when the matching scope is selected.
Free Shipping
A single checkbox: members on this plan get free shipping.
